Contact Discover Jasper County

One inbox, one or two working days, and the details that let us answer your question properly the first time.

Mail to Discover Jasper County reaches a single address, hello@discoverjaspercounty.com, and a person answers within two working days. Usually it is the writer whose part of the county your question is about, so the reply comes back with a road name and a time of day in it rather than a general paragraph. Short questions get short answers, and the ones that need a drive get the drive.

What to send for a route question

Three things: the page you are reading, your dates, and where you are starting from. If the question is about a meal, tell us how many people are coming and how late you will arrive, because kitchens across the county close the gap between lunch and dinner and several take Monday off. If it is about a room, say which town you want to wake up in and whether you need to walk to dinner from the door.

What to send for a correction

The page, the line that is wrong, and what you saw with your own eyes. Photographs of a sign, a menu board or an hours sheet beat a description every time, and they move the correction to the front of the queue. A price that changed since we wrote it counts as a correction too, even if the rest of the page still holds. Please do not wait to see whether the page fixes itself, because somebody else is reading it tonight and planning a drive around it.

Events, closures and seasonal tips

If a street closes for a parade, a market moves, a preserve gate shuts after a washout, or a shop changes its hours for the winter, send that along. The county runs on notices that get posted locally, and a note from somebody standing in front of the sign is how those reach this site before the season starts. Include the date and the town, and we will confirm it before anything changes on the page.

Press and promotion

We do not take paid placements, sponsored pages or links that pay us, so please do not send an offer of that kind. Press releases about events, openings and seasonal schedules are welcome and go into the same pile as everything else, where they get checked against the calendar before a word is written.

If you are in the county

Paper maps, mural passports and the current month of events come from the Jasper County Welcome Center at 104 West Washington Street in Rensselaer, which is run by the county and not by us. It is the fastest answer to anything happening this week, and the counter staff will tell you which town is worth standing in on the day you arrive.
